Electric Motor Rewinding
Precision rewinding that restores your motor to original performance — or better.
Motor Rewinding Done the Professional Way
A burnt motor doesn't have to mean a new motor. Rewound correctly — with the right wire gauge, turns count, insulation class and varnishing — a motor returns to full performance at a fraction of replacement cost. Rewound carelessly, it becomes a machine that overheats, draws extra current and fails again within months. At AmperaPower, we do it the professional way, every time.
We record the original winding data before stripping, use only ISI-marked super-enamelled copper wire, and finish every job with insulation and performance testing. Your motor leaves our workshop with a test report, not just a fresh coat of paint.
Motors We Rewind
- Three-phase squirrel cage induction motors — fractional HP to large industrial ratings
- Single-phase motors — capacitor-start, capacitor-run and split-phase
- Crane duty, brake and slip-ring motors
- Flour mill, grinder, compressor and crusher motors
- Cooler, exhaust, blower and industrial fan motors
- Hoist, lift and conveyor drive motors
- Table fan, ceiling fan and mixer motors (domestic segment)
Our Rewinding Process
- Inspection & data recording — winding data, core condition, bearing and shaft check
- Controlled stripping — old windings removed without damaging core laminations (a damaged core means a hot motor forever)
- Coil winding — correct gauge copper, correct turns, correct pitch — matched to the original design
- Insertion & connection — class-F or class-H slot insulation, phase separation and lacing
- Varnishing & baking — proper impregnation for moisture resistance and mechanical strength, vital in Kerala's humid climate
- Testing — insulation resistance (megger), winding resistance balance, no-load current and trial run
Why Quality Rewinding Matters in Kerala
High humidity, monsoon moisture, voltage fluctuation and frequent single-phasing are the biggest motor killers in Kerala. That's why we pay special attention to insulation quality, varnish impregnation and — where needed — recommend protective accessories like single-phase preventers and voltage protectors along with the rewind. A small addition at repair time can save the whole motor next monsoon.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does motor rewinding cost?
It depends on the HP rating, winding type and copper required. As a rule of thumb, a quality rewind costs 30–50% of a new motor's price. Send us the motor nameplate details (photo is fine) and we'll give you an estimate before you commit to anything.
Will a rewound motor be as good as new?
Yes — if it's done right. With original winding data, correct wire gauge and proper varnishing, a rewound motor delivers its original output and efficiency. Poor rewinding with undersized wire or damaged laminations is what gives rewinding a bad name.
Can you rewind motors during monsoon-related failures quickly?
Monsoon season is our busiest period — moisture and lightning-related failures spike across Kerala. We add express capacity during these months and offer 24-hour turnaround for breakdown emergencies.
What details should I share when I call?
The nameplate details (HP/kW, voltage, phase, RPM), what happened when it failed, and your location. A photo of the nameplate on WhatsApp is perfect — we can quote from that in most cases.
